Where better than to enjoy authentic food than where it is cooked best, in Greece. Elounda's dining options are wide and varied as the list shows and it is possible to find something to suit any palette. Traditional meze is ideal for groups, couples and families and is the best way to enjoy great delights such as stuffed vine leaves, stuffed peppers, kalamari, snails, horta (green salad), liver in wine, meat and fish. Ordering as a guide approx 3 dishes per person for average appetites is usually more than adequate.

If you prefer pizzas, some places now offer pizzas cooked in the oven and pasta dishes are widepsread and often highly creative and indulgent. Naturally fish features heavily on the menu of many restaurants and in many dishes. Lobster, swordfish and other luxury dishes can be found on many menus, often at very reasonable prices.

There are also takeaways (sandwich bars and souvlaki / giros grill) plus crepes on the menu. Light snacks are often also available during the day and early evening at many of Elounda's bars.
