The journey from Elounda Skisma to Plaka takes less than ten minutes but offers the visitor some stunning views along the way. Travelling from the harbour area (Skisma) the road passes behind the main beach on its way to the foot of Mavrikiano Hill and the waterfront area before heading along the coastline to Tsifliki. From this sleepy little hamlet the road continues along its way to Plaka. At most points the bay and peninsula are visible and the later part of the journey offers some excellent views of Spinalonga island. Other points of interest include the charter craft and many local fishing boats, Ipanema Beach, Blue Palace resort, before finally arriving in Plaka.
