Xaroupia Restaurant celebrates its opening with a music night in association with To Pevko

Xaroupia restaurant, in association with To Pevko kafenio in Plaka, celebrated its opening with a live music night featuring traditional Greek instruments and songs with George Zacharioudaki playing wind instruments and lyre, Stavros Tsagarakis on percussion and oud, Costa Tsamandoura on Lyra and guitar and Vangelis Tsagarakis playing bouzouki and lute. With the four musicians playing under the pergola and carob tree that gives the Xaroupia restaurant it its name, the audience was treated to over three hours of top quality music. Guests enjoying the evening included local Greeks, non-Greek expats and holidaymakers alike. As an illustration, our rather cosmopolitan table had a group of Greek, Bulgarian, German, English and Dutch friends sitting around it! The atmosphere was laid back, on this warm summer's evening, as the food and wine filled the tables to the sounds of well known tunes.
