The rain may have arrived but Elounda's workers celebrate the end of the season as usual
The 1st November, as many of you will know, is sometimes referred to as 'Saint Amstel's Day' around Elounda, especially for those of us who know a certain 'Mr. Clementakis'. Marking the end of the summer season and the start of the winter, the day is a time for many to party the evening away, without the worries of work the next day. A welcome reward for months of seemingly non-stop toil, it has become an annual happening in the Elounda calendar.

This year's party was held in The Peacock Pub and it proved to be a prudent decision once the rain showers had started. A barbeque outside, pool, darts and Wii competitions inside, plus DJ Sam spinning some great tunes for everyone to enjoy, made it one great afternoon and evening. Some dropped in for an hour or two; some made it an all day event and with Greek, English, German and other nationalities in attendance, it was, as usual, an international affair in this small Greek village that we all love so much.
