October 28th marks the 67th anniversary of 'Oxi Day' when on the same date in 1940 General Ioannis Metaxas refused Mussolini and the Italian army's demands to allow troops to enter Greece. 'Oxi' meaning 'No' plunged the Greek nation into the theatre of World War 2 and their defiance of Italian Fascist demands is commemorated on the event's anniversary throughout the country every year and is designated as a public holiday.
