> Politics : - The race for the leadership of Pasok is under way. Although the left of centre party's leadership election isn't scheduled until November 11th it would appear that the former Culture Minister, Evangelos Venizelos, is set to topple George Papandreou, with polls placing the challenger double percentage point figures ahead.
> Sport : - Results as of Friday 28th Sept. OFI Crete lost to Olympiakos last week in a 6-2 defeat. AEK and Xanthi currently sit atop the Super League table with 6 points apiece, both having won their first two games, and with each having 3 goals for and 0 against there is nothing between them so far. Olympiakos and Panthinaikos both have 4 points in third and fourth place respectively, OFI Crete have 3 in seventh place and Iraklis bring up the bottom of the table (sixteenth place) with 0 points, having scored no goals and conceded 4 from their two matches. Weekend domestic matches of 29th and 30th include OFI Crete vs Ergotelis (9.15pm 30th Sept), whilst Olympiakos take on Werder Bremen on Wednesday 3rd Oct in the Champions League
