April 2007 - Elounda News

The season is definitely under way, friends are back at work, the summer is fast approaching and our news scouts have sent back some quick notes so everyone else knows what's changed and what's not, before they arrive. So then, what's changed for 2007?

Riviera Bar has now become Rudy's, under English management [Update: The spelling is actually Rudi's, and it specialises in a cool lineup of ska music]

Music Garden Restaurant has now become Peacocks [Update: The new name is actually The Peacock]

Alyggos, Quick and Fresh, Symbol and other establishments have all had a bit of a makeover for 2007

The Blue Palace Hotel now has a large extension

The large shop that sold ceramics and was gated at night (between Symbol and the centre) has changed, with one half now selling souvenirs and the other cigarettes etc [Update: This is an enlarged STATUS, the shop that was previously located at the top of the sliproad down to the causeway]

Oasis and Avli have changed hands

Some staff have moved around and some old faces are back working in Elounda again this year, so everyone has an excuse to try out new haunts and do a bit of exploring to catch up with friends this year....as if anyone needed an excuse!

The new message board at makeitgreece.net is now open, with a specific Elounda forum. Everyone is most welcome to join in the discussion. We are most grateful to the continued contribution of our members and moderators over the years and hope you find the new platform and its facilities to be a significant improvement on the old ezboard

As you can see we are still moving onto the new site layout so please bear with us. Dead links etc can be reported via the Internet & Technical forum at makeitgreece.net, which is also a must for any Freehost users needing technical support.

There are only just over two weeks left for businesses to apply for a 2007 free webcard. If your Elounda business wants one please get your submission in ASAP.

We'll be having a meet up, Get Together, G2G, Social - whatever you want to call it - in the week 7th-14th May so check on the message board or the 'Editors' News' page on the 3rd May for details. We're still deciding on date/location, so if you're going to be in Elounda, want to meet up and have a preference on the date make your voice heard on the board.
